Having recently spent ten days in Maui, it was very difficult to come back to reality. The sounds of the ocean crashing on the beach, the coconut trees bending in the trade winds, the squawking of exotic birds and the smell of beautiful island flowers intoxicated the senses. Not only is Maui an absolutely beautiful place, but we found accessibility to be very good.

If you have ever dreamed of an accessible vacation in the Hawaiian Islands with your service animal, you may be surprised to know that Hawaii has some very strict quarantine rules. Animals in Hawaii do not have rabies, nor have they been exposed to it. Therefore, the Department of Agriculture requires animals going into Hawaii undergo a long quarantine. Service dogs may be exempt from going into quarantine if you meet certain requirements prior to travel.
