London's accessibility to people with disabilities has improved by leaps and bounds in the last five years ago.   Five years ago, there were few accessible bathrooms, much less trains, buses, or hotels.  However, the Anti-discriminatory Legislation of 2010, the upcoming Paralympics, and the advocacy and training efforts of organizations like Tourism for All UK, have improved London accessibility for the better.  more...

If you follow us on Facebook, which I really hope you do, you know that we have been following the Paralympics and encouraging everyone else to, as well. I am fortunate to know many current and former Paralympians and have witnessed the amount of sacrifice and discipline it takes to be a Paralympic athlete. It is so exciting to see the culmination of that hard work, watching  friends at the starting line or on the court, knowing what they have done to get there.

Preparing for A Whirlwind Accessible Journey in Europe

I am in the process of planning what will probably be the last 'big one' in Europe for my wife and I. As a 67 yo electric wheelchair user I am starting to feel the strain of these long trips with lots of destinations and the checkin/checkout/transfers that go with them. Besides I have a business that needs my attention and long periods of absence are not good for it. But I am almost there with the arrangements for this one and I thought I would share them and again about how it all went when we get back to Australia.

Enjoying Accessible Travel in Hawaii

Having recently spent ten days in Maui, it was very difficult to come back to reality. The sounds of the ocean crashing on the beach, the coconut trees bending in the trade winds, the squawking of exotic birds and the smell of beautiful island flowers intoxicated the senses. Not only is Maui an absolutely beautiful place, but we found accessibility to be very good.
